Siyaha"s Grants Program provides funding to Jordanian business associations, NGOs and other institutions working in the tourism industry to develop Jordan's competitiveness as an international tourism destination. A specialized grants program is also available for certain businesses in the geographic areas in which Siyaha works. The project funds activities and programs, on a cost-sharing basis, that support Siyaha's project goals to:

   
bullet2 Strengthen national tourism institutions and trade associations

bullet2 Develop high quality tourism experiences

bullet2 Increase tourism-related employment
bullet2 Spur growth in tourism-based businesses
bullet2 Expand investment in the tourism sector
arrow Promote the conservation and preservation of archeological sites and the    environment

bullet2 Promote women's involvement in the industry

bullet2 Spread the economic benefits of tourism outside Amman and maximize local community involvement in tourism
   

Siyaha has two grant tracks: Sector Development Grants and Tourism-based Enterprise Development Grants.

Sector Development Grants are for organizations that work in the tourism industry. These organizations must fit the following criteria:

   
bullet2 Support Siyaha's goals and objectives

bullet2 Demonstrate membership and market-driven approaches

bullet2 Demonstrate capacity to reach sustainability
bullet2 Provide high value-added to economic development
bullet2 Participate in creating better employment opportunities
bullet2 Offer outreach to women and governorates

bullet2 Demonstrate willingness to improve

   

Tourism-based Enterprise Development Grants are specifically designed for Siyaha's community-based tourism development programs. Currently, only institutions in Madaba and Wadi Rum are eligible to apply.

Grant types and activities funded by Siyaha
Siyaha offers four grant types that fund the following types of programs and activities:

   
bullet2 Small and Mini Grants: Seminars, workshops, conferences and other events,    and technical assistance services, including studies, and training.

bullet2 Program Development Grants: In addition to programs and activities in the    Small and Mini Grants category, other items include personnel costs, travel and    transportation, equipment, and organizational operating costs.

bullet2 Fixed Obligation Grants: No specific programs or activities are assigned to    these types of grants as they are awarded to achieve specific benchmarks.
   

Who can apply for a Siyaha grant?

Eligible grantees include NGOs, tourism associations, professional organizations, universities, training and research institutions, and consulting firms that implement programs that support Siyaha's goals of developing a dynamic, sustainable tourism industry.

Size of Grants
The amount of funding depends on the grant type. See Types of Grants for more information.

Application Process
Interested applicants are encouraged to submit a concept paper describing the proposed activity or program before beginning the formal application process. The concept paper should not exceed two pages and must include:

   
bullet2 The purpose and objectives of the organization and the proposed program;

bullet2 A general description of who will benefit from the program and the impact on    them;

bullet2 A description of who will implement the program and a timeframe for    implementation;
bullet2 An estimate of the amount of funding requested;
bullet2 The applicant's contribution, in cash and in kind, as well as any other sponsors    involved.

Siyaha will respond to applicant's concept paper within 14 days.

If the concept paper is approved, the applicant can submit a complete application.
