TOURISM TRADE-FOCUSED SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING CAMPAIGN
The USAID Jordan Tourism Development Project (Siyaha) is implementing a campaign to empower Jordanian companies to market Jordan as a tourism destination internationally utilizing digital and social media. In partnership with the Jordan Inbound Tour Operators Association (JITOA), USAID/Siyaha is soliciting Expressions of Interest (EoI) from Jordanian companies offering online and social media marketing services to partake in a capacity-building program that will be offered for the first time in Jordan and will result in international best practice servicing capabilities for the tourism industry.
The “Empowerment of Jordanian Digital and Social Media Marketing and Advertising Agencies Program” aims to educate, train and empower agencies in Jordan, on how to best plan for, approach, design, develop, push and measure online and social media campaigns with a specific call to action (booking) element for the tourism and hospitality industry.
In addition to partaking in the program, USAID /Siyaha and JITOA will nominate, based on pre-set criteria, up to three agencies that will be entitled to receive a demonstration mini grant to work, along with professionals from the tourism and hospitality industry, to produce, launch and measure the metrics of a social media campaign (one agency per campaign).
The agency training program will be offered on 23-24 October, 2011. Each agency can nominate up to three staff members with proven and relevant background and experience in digital and social media marketing to partake in the training program.
A conference entitled “Mastering Social Media to Boost Bookings”, open to the tourism sector and digital agencies, and featuring international experts in their field, will take place on 26 October, 2011. A one-day workshop to facilitate and commence campaign development between nominated agencies and the tourism sector will be offered on 27 October, 2011.
