Project Newsletter - June

An important step for Jordan’s tourism industry was taken last month, with the first Tourism Research in Jordan Symposium providing a forum for Jordan’s tourism researchers and experts to share their findings with an aim to strengthening the industry. Tourism education also received a boost as a grant provided to Jordan Applied University College of Hospitality and Tourism is helping to enrich the skills acquired by students. By participating in the Safe Food Handling training series taking place around the country, restaurants around the Kingdom are learning about hygiene to ensure food safety for their customers, while new inspection software launched by the Jordan Food and Drug Administration will also help to maintain food safety. US travel agents who are members of Virtuoso, the luxury travel agent network, explored Jordan last month to experience luxury tourism products and experiences in order to introduce them to new niche markets.
