In August, the USAID Economic Growth Through Sustainable Tourism Project focused its efforts on capacity building for the hospitality and tourism industry with training workshops taking place around the kingdom on a variety of subjects including gender equity, tourism marketing and the Certified Incentive Specialist program. These capacity building programs are helping to raise the standard of the tourism industry’s human resources and services in Jordan. At the same time, the Vocational Training Corporation’s outreach campaign to promote hospitality and tourism careers among youth is bearing fruit with a record number of students registering to enroll in the VTC’s different programs. VTC trainers also enhanced their skills through a quality assurance workshop that will help them deliver quality education to their students.
