USAID supports Wadi Rum cooperative to get credit fund

The USAID/Jordan Tourism Development Project II conducted a two-day training workshop for board members of the Productive Village Cooperative to help the cooperative to receive a credit fund from the Development and Employment Fund (DEF).

In order to quality to receive a JD50,000 revolving credit fund to finance micro loans for small projects implemented by members of the village, the cooperative members running the fund were required to have the skills needed to manage such a fund. Therefore, the USAID Tourism Project arranged and implemented the workshop to train 10 board members of the Productive Village Cooperative on managing and applying a credit scheme fund.

Having completed the training session, the cooperative is now eligible to receive the fund, which will finance up to 20 products for members of the village community, including small handicraft workshops and products.
