Project Management Specialist
The candidate will serve as project manager of a variety of tourism development and promotion initiatives with a heavy emphasis on business analysis, project planning, research and financial feasibility assessments. The position involves working with the tourism and hospitality industries, building capacity and contributing to the successful implementation of tourism ventures, launch of new projects and sectoral business plans. This position requires solid business planning and management experience, with strengths in marketing, research and a tenacious ability to lead projects from idea conception through to implementation.
Job Responsibilities
· Coordinate market research programs with partner organizations.
· Interpret tourism statistics and develop and publish market profiles.
· Contribute to new product development by researching customer needs, devising project and business plans for the introduction and implementation of new projects based on market demand.
· Investigate and propose cooperative marketing programs for particular industry sectors and work with members of the industry on sector promotion, including securing group buy-in, funding and implementation.
· Support the development of project plans for new tourism projects, and strengthen planning and management models for tourism sites, assets and attractions.
· Introduce modern tourism asset management models, including private sector participation, public-private partnerships and concessions.
· Lead sector economic competitiveness studies and analyses, identify opportunities for enhancement of tourism industry competitiveness relative to competing destinations.
Education and Experience
· A minimum of a Bachelor degree in business administration, marketing, economics, or a related field. Masters degree preferred.
· At least 7 years of practical business experience and first-hand experience in carrying out business assessments and planning with a special focus on private enterprise.
· Proven skills in market research, statistical analysis and business planning.
· Knowledge of Jordanian regulations governing business.
· Strong writing and budgeting skills.
· Ability to take ownership of projects to ensure completion while working within a team.
