On Thursday, the 28th  July, the strategy was launched .in a one-hour ceremony by Her Excellency Dr. Haifa Abu Ghazaleh, Minister of Tourism & Antiquities, along with private sector leaders from the tourism industry.

The new strategy builds on the great success of the previous one (2005-2010) which exceeded its target of JD 1.7 billion, to reach over JD 2 billion by 2010. The new tourism strategy seeks to more than double this figure by 2015, exceeding JD 4 billion.

It is truly world class competitiveness-based strategy, designed to reach global markets to showcase Jordan’s unique assets and hospitality while engaging local communities in tourism-focused jobs and businesses.
